Nathan Lyon has added yet another feather to his already illustrious cap after starring with the ball in the ongoing second Test between India and Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
After Australia were bowled out for 263 in the first innings, Nathan Lyon put his team in a strong position by blowing away India’s top-order. The Australia spin spearhead was at his best in the first session on Saturday (February 18).
He dismissed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer inside the first session to leave India reeling at 66 for 4. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja then steadied the ship and took India’s score past the 100-run mark.

Nathan Lyon’s stunning record continues:
The latest performance in Delhi has further extended Nathan Lyon’s fine record in Tests against India. He has now become the first Australia player to take 100 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Overall, he has become the third bowler after India’s Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin to take 100 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Later in the game, Nathan Lyon went on to dismiss KS Bharat to complete his five-wicket haul. He now has 8 five-wicket hauls against Team India.
Here is Nathan Lyon’s record against Team India in Tests:
Innings | Overs | Wickets | BBI | BBM | Average | 5-wicket haul | |
