Former Australian Cricketer Matthew Hayden believes that the 2023 IPL season will be the close of MS Dhoni’s career in the competition as the Chennai Super Kings skipper gets ready to return to Chepauk. Hayden believes this could be the last time Mahendra Singh Dhoni will step into the field as a player.
The schedule of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was released and the huge news is that IPL returns as home and away format. Chennai Super Kings will have their first home game on 3rd April when they face Lucknow Super Giants at Chepauk.
Speaking on Star Sports following the announcement of the TATA IPL 2023 schedule, Former CSK Opener Hayden talked about the reception Chennai Super Kings captain Dhoni will receive when he walks onto the field at Chepauk after almost three years.
“It will be an amazing moment. I think last year, we were all under the impression that will MSD come back again. At the close of the IPL season, he made that huge comment to say that he will be back. Now, what that means for all that Yellow Army is that Chennai suddenly galvanized a tad around the superior leader, who has done it for so long,”

Hayden continued that this season will probably be the last season for Ms.Dhoni in CSK colors as a player. The former India captain is 41 and may call it the end at the end of this IPL season.
“This will, most certainly, I think, be the close of his IPL career. So, those few games at the start are not only going to be key for the fans, his performance is going to be key for CSK this season,” said Hayden
The former Indian Skipper has been playing for Csk since 2008 and has won four titles from them. Dhoni receives stunning reception in Chepauk whenever he plays for them.
Ms. Dhoni Leadership Experience Will Make A Difference – Sanjay Manjrekar Ahead Of IPL 2023
Former Indian Cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels Ms. Dhoni’s experience will come in handy for CSK in IPL 2023, Manjrekar believes that Ms. Dhoni can be played purely based on his leadership skills.

“Look, having watched T20 cricket over the years, especially with the IPL and the kind of pressures that teams feel, I believe that you can have one player in your team on pure leadership. MS Dhoni doesn’t play regularly, so his impact with the bat is not going to be as much as it was in his prime, but somebody like MS Dhoni, with his leadership experience, can have him in the team, to make a difference with his leadership,” Manjrekar Said on Star Sports
Chennai Super Kings will look to add another championship in IPL 203 and Ms. Dhoni has already begun his preparation for IPL 2023 and has been seen practicing in Ranchi. Dhoni will look to end his career on high with Chennai Super Kings.
